EVG / EVJF activity idea: Axe throwing at Les Cognées!

Where do EVGs and EVFs come from?

Initially reserved for men, the bachelor party dates back to the 18th century. The ceremony essentially consisted of a meal with friends at the village inn (or the neighboring village, if you feared being recognized for your misbehavior). Simple, effective. The man would then enjoy the services of another woman, usually in a brothel, one last time, before returning to his beloved...

The groom was placed in an empty coffin, which was then buried or even thrown into the water. This gives meaning to the expression "bachelor party".

Until the twentieth century, the young girl, for her part, confined herself to a snack with friends. At her parents' home, the bride-to-be takes leave of her loved ones in a much softer version of the farewell meal.

6 reasons to have your EVG or EVJF at Les Cognées

Axe throwing first appeared in Canada around ten years ago. Since then, this unusual activity has gone from strength to strength. It's also an excellent Team Building activity.

Would you like to share an intense moment with the bride-to-be? Here are 5 good reasons to come and discover axe throwing at Les Cognées during an EVG or EVJF :

  1. Anyone can succeed in planting an axe (at least one, I promise!).
  2. It's a really fun activity.
  3. You can challenge your friends to a tournament or practice the art of self-mockery.
  4. The best way to relieve stress
  5. It's sure to be a memorable experience!
  6. Bonus: all photos (e.g. party photos, etc.) are allowed on the targets.

Nothing beats a good axe-throwing session to have fun with friends. You don't need to be strong, as long as you listen to the instructors' advice. What you do need is a bit of concentration.

For EVG / EVJF, as for Team Building, we usually organize team tournaments. It's a great way to get everyone involved, and to get all the apprentice throwers on board.

To begin, an instructor will give you a brief presentation on safety instructions and throwing techniques.

You can then move on to training. The instructors are on hand to give you all the advice you need to hit (or aim at) the center of the target on every attempt.

The best (or luckiest) will plant on the very first throw. For the less lucky, you'll need just 5 or 6 throws to catch up with or even surpass your friends!

You have now all become axe-throwing pros. It's time to start the challenges!
The instructors will create teams to compete in a big tournament. May the best team win!

At the end of the session, we'll introduce you to other axe formats (double, Canadian, etc.), for even more fun.

Then you can round off this wonderful moment with a big team photo.
