How to manage stress? Discover axe throwing

Do you feel the need to relax? Relieve the pressure that's building up around you? Do you have so much to do that you don't even know where to start? In this article, find out how to manage stress and discover a new and unusual activity: axe throwing!

How do you manage everyday stress?

At work, the work is piling up. Your boss keeps nagging you. You're anxious, less focused and therefore less productive. And then there are your children! Between arguments, tantrums and school marks, the atmosphere at home is electric. Then there's the banker, the bills to deal with, and the friends who complain that they don't see you anymore. And then, shouldn't you start moving again?

Rest assured. You're not alone. Did you know that one French employee in five (19%) suffers daily stress at work?

This is shown by a survey, The Workforce View in Europe 2019, carried out by ADP, on 10,585 employees in Europe. But there are other factors responsible for your stress too. This is what Statista (German online statistics portal) highlights:

the causes of stress

Fortunately, there are activities and methods for learning how to manage stress. So keep smiling and read on! 🙂

Sport, relaxation and alternative medicines such as essential oils are good stress relievers. These activities must be practised regularly. Generally speaking, just one session of sport is enough to bring about beneficial effects, thanks in particular to endorphins (pleasure hormones). Sport not only reduces stress, but also makes it easier to fall asleep - not bad, eh?

Axe throwing to let off steam

Walking and jogging are often the first sports that spring to mind, but have you ever thought of discovering new and rather... unusual activities?

Discover how to manage stress with axe throwing! Yes, it may seem surprising at first glance, but this practice is a real stress reliever! When you throw, you release all the pressure that's suffocating you, and when your axe hits the target, a feeling of satisfaction washes over you. Axe-throwing gives you the desire to succeed, a rage you can't control! It's enough to make you an axe-throwing addict!

By the way, a little tip: you can always stick your boss's head on the target to increase your chances of success! 😉

Contrary to popular belief, this activity requires agility and concentration rather than a big pair of arms. Axe-throwing lets you clear your head, forget your problems, and stay focused on one objective: hitting the bull's-eye.

How to manage stress: axe throwing and more activities

Meditation, for example, enables you to focus on the present moment by paying attention to your body, your breathing... The aim is to become fully aware of yourself. You can join a meditation club or practice this activity from the comfort of your own home, thanks to Youtube tutorials such as Meditation for beginners.

Don't forget to always be well surrounded by your nearest and dearest, as social ties are very important for managing stress. Get out and do activities with the people you love, like axe-throwing! Axe-throwing is not only a great way to have fun and relax with friends and family, it's also a great way for your body to let off steam! Beneficial from every point of view!

When the pressure builds up, don't hesitate to write down everything you're feeling in a little notebook, both the negative emotions and the happy moments, and take stock of your life. A little extra: write down three things you're grateful for every day in your notebook.

Concentrate on the things you enjoy - recalling good memories helps to manage stress. In the morning, for example, take time for yourself, even if it means getting up earlier. It's the first moments of the day that can determine your state of mind for the rest of the day. Don't check your phone, but have a good breakfast with music! You can drink tea, read a book, put on your best clothes...

Ln the morning, take the time to make yourself a real breakfast!

Pay attention to the quality of your sleep too! Lack of sleep causes stress! If this is the case, find a moment during the day to take a nap. A micro-nap of 10 to 20 minutes is enough to get you back on track! The ideal amount of sleep for teenagers is between 8 and 10 hours. For young adults and adults, it's 7 to 9 hours. Finally, the elderly should sleep between 7 and 8 hours a night.
